Every August the city of Dexter holds its annual "Paint Dexter Festival" Artists apply and are juried into the exhibition as both "emerging" and "professional artists". For five glorious days artists plein air paint in and around the Dexter area.  An awards ceremony and exhibition are the culminating events.  West coast artist Greg LaRock served as juror for 2019.  He awarded first, second and third ribbons in both the emerging and professional categories.  Mr. LaRock awarded the special award of "artist's choice to my work "Harvest Poetry-Truck Time".  As Mr. LaRock indicated this award is the most coveted of all awards because it is voted by ones peers. This award represents a recognition not merely by one person but by ones fellow artists as a body. I want to humbly thank those artists. No best of show or first place award could equal this recognition by my fellow artists.  Thank you!
